7 Ways To Kill A Fooball by Lisi Gradnitzer

It was a very spontaneous idea, a couple of weeks before the begining of the 2006 soccer world cup. I was a little concerned how to 'survive' this period not being a real soccer-fan and also hardly having the possibility to escape from soccer information and advertisment. At the same time I was invited to an exhibiton at 'Momentum' a recently opened gallery for contemporary photography in Vienna and so I turned my soccer-feelings into an art project. The number 7 results from the exhibition's name which was called '7x7' (7 artists – 7 hours), although I had a really long list with more ideas for killing a football. It’s not that I hate football, but in my opinion soccer and all the big emotions about it should not be taken too serious.
