Police Women by Rafal Milach
They wake up before 4 am. There is no time for eating at home. The breakfast will come in barracks, police car or wherever possible. “They are good in action because they temper the aggressive behaviors” says one of male police instructors. “They want to show that they are better than the male policemen” he ads with laughter. There are 60 police officers in the only female police department in Warsaw, Poland. Most of them come from the capital but there are few coming from all over Poland. All of the police officers from XV female company are young (average age 25-26 years old), beautiful, longhaired with braids dressed accordingly to regulations. The XV company’s duties are clear and unchangeable: to patrol the streets, to secure mass events, football games, street demonstrations in capital city and surroundings.
