Simple Fishing by Mario Weigt

The oceans are fished too intensively and used without a view to sustainability. It await a sad future. Fishing quotas are overstepped. The industrial big fishing destroys complete ecosystems. According to a report of the environmental organization WWF (World Wide Fund For Nature), the fish populations such as tuna, cod, swordfish and shark are endangered strongly. It has gone down about ninety percent since 1970.
For the population in the poor regions of Asia, the fish is among the only protein suppliers. Fishermen who do their job with simplest fishing tackles feel the decrease of the fish populations daily. The catch is rarely enough in order to feed their families.
The fishes are more and more smaller close to seashore or swim back into the deeper water. The nets and fish traps of fishermen often even remain quite empty. The same goes for rivers and lakes too. The statement of the ordinary fishermen is unambiguous: In the past, our parents have had essentially more fishes in the net.
