Holy Land Theme Park by Joao Padua
‘Tierra Santa’ - Holy Land in English – is described as the world's first religious theme park. The seven-hectare site located in northern Buenos Aires, Argentina, sits just between a water park, an airport, and the Rio de la Plata (River Plate). The faux Holy City is a model of Jerusalem and since its doors opened in 1999, almost two million people have come to see “attractions” such as an 18-meter statue of Jesus Christ that rises from the ground. Though some non-believers may enjoy a stroll and a scoff, many visitors who take in the faux Holy City are often moved.
