Bank of Cereals by Simone Casetta
Farmers in Southern Chad are forced, by lacking of storage structures and commercial organization, to sell their whole harvest at once to wholesale traders, at a very low price. After a few months they have to buy cereals themselves at consistently higher price, and every year they periodically suffer for hunger.
The municipality and the people from Tavarnelle Val di Pesa, a lovely small town in Tuscany, is directly helping a group of farmers in southern Chad (region of Doba) by exporting their historic experience of the agricultural cooperative system.
