The Father of the Wolves by Andrei Liankevich

Dmitrij Shamanovich has finished the biological faculty of the University in Vitebsk, then he got a Doctor's Degree  at the Belarus Academy of Science. He is professional ornithologist, speaks fluently English, what is more than an exception in the scientific world in Belarus. Just after DD, he had left Minsk to the wild forest village on the Russian border to work in a national park with his young wife Irina. By accident, the first recorded werewolves were from Herodotus, an ancient Greek writer of the fifth century B.C., who described a tribe that lived north of the Black Sea, exactly at the same place where Dmitrij lives, and had the ability to turn themselves into wolves a few days each year.  Dmitrij do not look as open person, deeply selective choosing people to communicate. You can hardly find any words addressing to you ever after 2 days staying at his place. So, he founded the right place to have a wolf family. About a year ago, he got a wonderful daughter and called her Janina. Dmitrij's wife is also biologist, she understands his passion very well.

Dmitrij Shamanovich has adopted the wolf cubs after their parents were shot by hunters. Cubs have to be 7-10  days old maximum. There is no possibility to make them understand. After a 10 days period the human is a "parent", and finally the head of the pack. Dmitrij does not force the wolves to live as the dogs. He builded up a relationship as a wolf traditionally do in the nature. He explains, that he is the leader and every spring he "fights for the position", showing his strength.
