Armenian Provincial Wedding by Anna Davtyan
The celebration of Armenian weddings has had many traditional items, some of which are already lost or left unnoticed on the way of modernizing and tending to intake the details and the style of standardized weddings of the West. In cities these national customs and traditions are considered old-fashioned and ridiculous, and are no longer practiced. Only in provincial towns and villages the traces of ever rich culture of Armenian wedding celebration can be found. Though provincial weddings still keep the traditions and Armenian style, they are, however, already mixed with “European way” and continue their stable forwarding trough this path.
