Potato Cultivation Development in Tanzania by Simone Casetta
On the South Tanzania Highlands, an agricultural project about potatoes cultivation is improving the quality of life for the farmers of the Kilolo region. The quality of life in the Kilolo region has been improved with a sustainable project of agricultural differentiation. Potatoes, in this particular case, became in the last 20 years a good resource both for direct alimentary use and for trading. The construction of a road from Iringa to Bomalang'ombe financed by European community, and the coordination of local farmers is giving great relief to the pople of this area. Scenes from village life, the work of the farmers in the fields, food markets and potatoes in the various forms as they are offered in homes or local restaurants.
