On the tracks of Don Quixote through La Mancha by Fausto Giaccone
400 years after Miguel de Cervantes’s masterpiece’s publication (1605), the region Castilla-La Mancha is getting ready to one year long celebrations. Expositions, conferences, performances will take place in the main towns: Toledo, the capital, Ciudad Real, Albacete, Cuenca, Guadalajara. But above all they will try to make interesting and pleasant the so-called "Don Quixote’s way”, that is the itinerary – the hypothetic itinerary, as de Cervantes created it mainly from his imagination – of the wandering knight Don Quixote and his humble squire Sancho Panza.
It is a journey one can cover in few days. And it provides many beautiful surprises from the point of view of history, arts and scenery.
